Paris, struck from dies by Georgios Jakobides, reeded edge. ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α! ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ / 1910 Elderly head of George I to left; below truncation, in tiny letters, Γ. ΙΑΚΩΒΙΔΗΣ. Rev. ΔΡΑΧΜH Veiled Thetis, seated to left on a hippocamp swimming to right, holding with her extended right hand the shield of Achilles adorned with a facing gorgoneion. Divo -. Karamitsos T.72. KM Pn41. Extremely rare, a pattern that has only appeared a very few times over the past generation. Graded by NGC "MS 62". Cert number: 2909004-007.

BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Diodotos II, circa 246-230 BC. (Bronze, 17 mm, 3.87 g, 6 h), mint B (probably Baktra). Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΙΟΔΟΤΟΥ Artemis advaincing right, holding torch with both hands; in right field, star. Bopearachchi 9A; HGC 12, 30 (R2). Holt I2. 32-38. Very rare and with an attractive reddish-brown patina. Very fine.
